1. Meaning of AI

Artificial Intelligence is the ability of a machine or computer program to perform tasks that normally need human-like thinking. These tasks may include recognising images, understanding speech, recommending content, finding patterns, or making predictions.

AI does not think exactly like a human. It works by following instructions, using data, and applying mathematical patterns created during training.

2. AI in Daily Life

• Voice assistants answering simple questions.
• Maps suggesting routes based on traffic.
• Shopping apps recommending products.
• Email services filtering spam.
• Camera apps improving photos.
• Learning platforms suggesting practice topics.

3. Role of Data

Data is the raw material for many AI systems. If data is incomplete, unfair, or incorrect, the AI output can also become incorrect.

Example: To recognise handwritten digits, an AI system needs many examples of digit images with correct labels.

4. How AI Learns Patterns

AI systems often learn by studying examples. During training, the system checks patterns in input data and connects those patterns with correct outputs.

After training, the model can try to predict results for new data. The prediction should be tested carefully before relying on it.

5. Human Intelligence and AI

Humans can understand emotions, values, context, and meaning deeply. AI can process large amounts of data quickly but may not understand real-life situations the way people do.

Good use of AI combines human judgement with machine speed.

6. Responsible AI

• Use accurate and relevant data.
• Protect privacy.
• Check for unfair results.
• Do not depend blindly on automated answers.
• Use AI to help people, not harm them.
